Wendy obtained her B.A. in Theater and Geology from James Madison University. After trying to establish an acting career in Hollywood, she returned to obtain an M.Sc in Neotectonic Geomorphology from The Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in Tectonic Geomorphology from Arizona State University. Now a Senior Science Communication Specialist at Incorporated Research Institutes in Seismology (IRIS), Wendy handles the public-facing components of the IRIS Education and Public Outreach effort, including social media, mobile app development, museums, and public displays, and website content curation. She also leads and develops Science Communication workshops for scientists, and is named an AAAS If/Then Ambassador.
