From Chicago, Naa Asheley Afua Adowaa Ashitey graduated with a B.A. in Creative Writing with Honors and a minor in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago. She is now a PROPEL Post-Bacc Scholar and ImmunoX ImmunoDiverse Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, focusing on the role of dendritic cells in T-cell activation to better induce anti-tumor immunity. Naa enjoys bouldering, photography, getting her butt kicked by some awesome friends in Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu, and when she's not studying for the MCAT or having an existential crisis about something in her life, writing poetry and short stories.
