About
Julián is a climate journalist, consultant, and sociologist based between Athens, Greece, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. His research work about coastal resilience, illegal deforestation, energy transitions, and climate justice movements has garnered bylines in BBC Future, Climate Home News, El País, Oceanographic Magazine, and Dialogue Earth, among others.
As a grantee of the Pulitzer Center, GRID-Arendal, the Earth Journalism Network, One Earth, and Climate Tracker Julián conducted fieldwork in several critical geographies of the Global South. He also attended the last three UN climate summits (COP29, COP28, and COP27) and covered the Frontiers Planet Prize (2024) as well as the two rounds of the 2022 Colombian Presidential Elections. His environmental photography work has been recognized by UNESCO.
Julian holds an MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development from University College London (UCL) and a BA in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He has a working proficiency in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
