Becca Owen is a freelance writer and writing instructor in various community colleges. She obtained an M.F.A in Creative Writing from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and an M.A. in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University. Becca was the recipient of the Frank Allen Field Reporting Award from the Institute for Journalism and Natural Resources and the Oregon Literary Fellowship; now based in Silverton, Ore., she is also a cellist for the Salem Philharmonia Orchestra and an equestrian.
